Hammoud on Gov. Whitmer’s second State of the State address

Wednesday, January 29, 2020
State Rep. Abdullah Hammoud (D-Dearborn) was joined by Wayne County Commissioner Sam Baydoun for Gov. Whitmer’s second State of the State address at the Capitol in Lansing on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2020.

“People should not be forced to decide between putting food on the table for their family or paying for their prescriptions and visits to the doctor. I applaud Gov. Whitmer for shining an even brighter light on such an important issue, and for recognizing the work House Democrats are doing with our H.O.P.E. plan. Our package will tackle the skyrocketing price of prescription drugs and ensure people are put before profits, because the health of our residents is integral to not only each individual’s success, but Michigan’s success. That being said, we have a long way to go, not only on health, but also infrastructure, education, and environmental and economic justice.”
