DETROIT – State Representative Gabe Leland (D-Detroit) is inviting Detroit residents to join him and the Warrendale Community Organization in a cleanup of Southfield Service Drive as part of Motor City Makeover 2007.
"This is a great opportunity to unite for a cause we all care about: making Detroit beautiful," Leland said. "We want to bring together residents, local leaders and members of the business community to show our shared pride in Detroit. We all have a stake in making our city a clean place to raise our families and an inviting place that attracts visitors and investors from around the world."
The cleanup sponsored by Leland and the group will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 19. Participants should gather at the Tipperary Pub, 8287 Southfield Freeway, (West side of the Southfield Service Drive just south of Joy Road).
Supplies and lunch will be provided.
Anyone who would like to participate in the event may call Leland for more information at (866) 525-4223.
